Job Slater accepts a role with Cutthroat Café which promises a delicious salary and flexible hours. He learns to outmaneuver and outwit the culinary forces of evil, while his wife Rachel equips second graders with education and discernment. Together they struggle to support family finances and balance the cost of childcare. When Job learns spoiled ingredients aren’t ‘old til they’re sold’ and employees call out of work for come and go comas, his conscience wrestles with working in the food business and feeding his own family.
